Just take a colored copy of her marriage certificate with her. That's what I did.

They didn't even look at my marriage certificate. They used the GC with my new surname. However, don't take chances. Take the copy with you just in case.

hello VJ'S friend!!

My wife and I want back to the Phlippines Cagayan De Oro for 3 months after I retired early....

she needed to take her Green Card, passport and her marriage certificate.

Later after we got back .. we found out that she could get a new passport and that we needed to first REGISTER the Marriage with the

Philippines first .. and then we drove to Chicago and got her .. her new passport.

Silly us didn't know that the Philippines changes her middle name to her last name since that is her fathers name and drops her mom.

So Rosie had to get a letter from the Philippines Consulate showing all of her Names that she can NOW USE. Single name (she has on passport now)

Her married name which (LOL) we dropped her last name and put mine after marriage .. and the Philippine way on you new passport which is

First name , Dads Last name middle and my last name ... So she has three PROPER valid NAMEs.

Remember to go out to the Philippines Counsulate web site and find the FORM to REGISTER your Marriage Certificate.

Then later that letter they SEND you .. and do her PASSPORT update when her is about to expire 3 months.

I have the same issue and that was what I was advised to do. Best of luck to your friend! :)
