Hey Vjers,

I come to you again for advice, My fiancée and I have sent our i-129 packet about a month ago, got our NOA1 and now she is moving from the address that we put down on our i-129 and g-325. What should we do? Is there a way to change her address this far in? or should we retract our application and start over? She has not received anything in the mail yet ( not sure if she should be expecting anything yet?) Please Help!

Hi, The same thing happened to us. I (beneficiary) changed my address 2 weeks after we sent in our petition. We called the USCIS and was informed that it makes no difference while the case is processed. However, once we recieve our NVC case number, we have to contact our consulate/embassy and let them know (using the case number) that I have changed my address to make sure that they send our packages to the right address.

In short, while waiting for NOA2, you do not need to do anything.

Thank you!! That is exactly the answer I was looking for. So once we get the NOA2 we contact the consulate/embassy in the country that I (beneficiary) am residing and through which the visa is supposed to go and you didn´t have any issues with that? I´s really be in some trouble if it went to my old address :/

About a week or two after you receive your NOA2, begin contacting NVC for your case number and status of the petition. Once you know NVC has forwarded your petition to the consulate, you can begin contacting the embassy. You want to stay on top of it so that you can input the new address before anything gets sent out from the embassy. You should easily be able to change the address and have your documents sent to your new address.
