Hey - follow this guy - http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?/topic/39544-off-to-see-the-wizard-of-guz/

Though that link covers his 'end game', he was meticulous about his prior postings, so can follow his stuff.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

There's also a guy that posted a DCF Beijing topic a couple of months ago. I commented on it. He wrote a lot about the initial preparation for the I-130, I suggest you look for it. It helped me a lot, even though I did mine in Paris.

**EDIT** Here's the post I was talking about, it was only 3 or 4 pages in on the forums:

Hi Darnell and FrenchPhenom5

thanks for the LInks! A lot of good information and also about taxes. I filed last years with my wife on a joint return and saved some money. Unfortunately I couldn't get an ITIN for my stepson. It was a fight to get one for my wife because they wouldn't accept at first the notarized copy of her passport I sent in. I was told that if I get my son's ITIN I can go back and amend tax returns to put him on for the last three years.

I decided not to file in Beijing as it's difficult for me to get there. Also, I wrote to Beijing, telling them my wife's Hukuo is Shenzhen and finally got a one sentence answer to my several questions: "Since your case is under the USCIS Guangzhou office jurisdiction, please contact them on cis-guangzhou.inquiries@dhs.gov"

Well, I have written to GZ several times and never get an answer or maybe they tell me to write somewhere else who also doesn't answer. We live in Zhejiang which should be Beijing District but I'm leaving China and passing through GZ so maybe I'll stop by there and see if we can do it there if we have a short term address in Shenzhen. I never have a simple situation but I'm also not rushed to get a visa.

I'm also trying to adopt my son in China. I'll try to start a separate thread for that. I know you need a visa to adopt a child in China.

Since I've never gotten responses from the consulates/embassy I'm really grateful that so many people are telling their stories here and passing on valuable information.

FP5 I guess your arrival in the US is coming soon. Congratulations!

Craig
