Hi everybody,

Yes, I am getting ready to file for an EAD renewal, I can't believe that it's time!It is not the perfect situation, but I have no choice.

While I was preparing a check list for the application, and reading the guides on the USCIS website and this website, a few questions popped up and hopefully you guys would be able to help me. Any suggestions are welcome!

Here is a list of documents that will go with my I-765 renewal application:

1. Cover letter for the EAD renewal

2. Form I-765 completed - category c(9)

3. Payment as required by USCIS. Here is my question:

As my I-485 is pending and this is an EAD renewal, do I have to pay the $340 filing fee or not?

4. Copy of I-485 receipt notice. Question:

Should I add a copy of the I-485 interview notice just to make sure they see that I already had the interview?

5. Copy of I-94 (front/back), passport (old one and new one), and J-1 Visa.

6. A copy of my last EAD (front and back)

7. Two passport-type Photos

Do you guys think I included everything?

Thank you in advance for all your answers! :star:

You do not have to pay the fee. Include a copy of the I-485 receipt. You don't need to include a copy of the interview notice.

I am sorry to find out that your case is delayed to such an extent where you have to renew the EAD. I hope you get some good news soon. Attaching as much documents as possible won't harm a bit. I would throw in the interview document as well, so as to make them realize the apathy on their part. I wont question john and marlene's advice since I am not aware of it, but I was under the impression that you pay to renew your EAD. Have it double checked, or maybe some of the senior members can throw in some light to further confirm. Good Luck. I shall be returning by the end of this month and hope to hear some good news from you by then.

I was under the impression that you pay to renew your EAD.

Interim benefits are included with the fee for the I-485. Interim benefits include EAD and EAD renewal.

Thank you everybody for your quick answers!

John&Marlene-I thought so. The guides were a little bit unclear to me in regards to this EAD renewal fee.Thank you again for clarifying!

Saspk-thank you for stopping by my topic! I really don't know what holds my application. I had a very smooth interview and we brought enough evidence. No questions like "why did you do this" or "why is this.." - you know what I mean, questions to make me worry what is going to happen to us. This is our first marriage as well, so no issues in that regards either. Background check cleared as well.

I really hope that applying for the EAD renewal will bring attention to the I-485. I also know that for the past week the government employees didn't work because of the snow and it looks like the rest of the week is still off for them.

Sigh! Good Luck Juliava. I hope you receive your approval before the Renewed EAD.

Thank you, Saspk!

The next step will be an infopass-a follow up on the I-485 service request I placed a month ago. I am extremely disappointed with the whole process.

My friend used Advance parole to enter into the US. Her AOS employment based is pending.

So what status we should write in the I 765 application form for:

(1) tem 15 Current Immigration status;

(2)item 14 Manner of last entry Immigration status

Any reply will be appreciated

CURRENT IMMIGRATION STATUS!

Hi, please ignore my previous post!:)

1. current immigration status is "i-485 pending" if it's an EAD renewal and you have the I-485 receipt notice. If you don't have it,and it's your first I-765 application, the current status is probably the visa that your friend still has -and I am sure there is one otherwise you are not eligible for the AOS based on employment. Legal status needs to be mantained the whole process.

2. Item 14 has to do with the type of visa that your friend initially entered US with. I don't think "Advance Parole" is the right answer.

Good luck!
