Entered wrong consulate on I-129F

We already received our NOA2 13 days ago, but only realized last week that the consulate we THOUGHT my fiance would go to (Calgary, AB, Canada) does not deal with K-visas, that only Vancouver and Montreal do.

My question is, will the NVC already know that the petition should go to Vancouver? Or is there a form that can be filled out and sent to them to change the consulate? Can it be changed in a phone call?

This isn't THAT big of a deal because the consulate at Calgary said that they just forward all K-visa info to Vancouver anyway, but we'd like to avoid the un-needed delay.

You should call them and ask. If they already transfered the case, at leas they will tell you where they sent it. Once you track it down, if it went to Montreal, ask the one in Montreal to forward it to Vancouver....but I hope it will automatically sent to Vancouver!

If it's still at NVC, maybe you can tell them the new embassy!

I'm sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough in my last post.

We are currently waiting for the NOA2 to reach NVC, so they don't even have it yet (I checked today ) .. so I guess the best thing to do would be to ask them when they DO receive it if they can change the consulate? He lives in Alberta and that province is supposed to go to Vancouver for K-1's so I really hope they send it there if I can't change it! I've heard Montreal is hellish.

I didn't know if there were any specific forms or if anyone else had done this before who could tell me what they did.

The petition will be automatically forwarded to the correct consulate (in your case, Vancouver). This kind of thing happens often enough that they know where to direct it to.

If it gets transferred to MTL, email them and tell them to transfer it back to VAN asap.

NVC knows that K-1's or any K's for that matter aren't processed in Calgary, so they'll send it to the right one!

Yep. I put "Toronto" on my app, and it was transferred to Montreal. I'm sure it happens a lot.

Thanks everyone! I'm hoping it gets to Vancouver one way or another, there is no way we are going through Montreal .. if they automatically forward it that would be great.
