Embassy Review : Appointment time 9. Arrived at 8:30am and waited outside. Once inside, dropped interview appointment letter to front desk and wait to be called. One lady took package asked a few questions and was then sent to another lady. Asked how we met, if we stayed connected and address and phone number of spouse. Verified police record and marriage certificate. Then got instructions for dhl. Overall good experience. 1st lady was a bit harsh but I guess it’s business
Rating : Good

Was your interview cancelled for covid cases in Barbados?
blank avatar Islandg767 on 2021-01-06 said:
Apparently. They cancelled all appointments until the 15th of January
Cayessdee on 2021-01-06 said:
Wow. mine was as well. I am hoping that when they resume appointments, they will first be granted to the persons whose interviews were cancelled in the January time period. When I went on the site to reschedule, it states no appointments are available.

I know. It’s heart wrenching. From the rumors I’m hearing not till March 😩😩😩

Hello, have you all heard about interviews being scheduled for Barbados for March yet? I received an email from the Embassy on March 1st, 2021 stating: "Thank you for your email. At this time and in response to a recent outbreak in Barbados of the coronavirus, routine consular appointments have been canceled until further notice. Though we are unable to predict the resumption of consular services, once public health metrics indicate it is safe to reopen services to the public, Embassy Bridgetown will update its website to encourage applicants to schedule appointments at their convenience. Please regularly check our website for further updates" But when I contacted NVC to see if this means we schedule our own interviews now, NVC said that's not the protocol and that we will not be able to schedule/reschedule our own interviews. It continues to sound like Barbados Embassy is confused?

They stated they will send an email when ready to rebook. Right now the email they sent states no appointments available. I check everyday to see hoping something magically opens. Because we we already scheduled it’s up to the embassy now to reschedule us. It’s hurtful but just hoping for some amazing news soon

We are praying for the same. I'm really close to giving birth and I am terrified it will be without my husband...
blank avatar Islandg767 on 2021-03-03 said:
Oh no. I’m sorry to hear. Have you tried expediting it?
blank avatar RAABT on 2021-03-03 said:
Yes and in late December they approved the expedite and then the embassy shut down and since then they have said they are no longer accepting or honoring expedite requests and instead will do it in the order in which it is received from NVC. The scary part is sometimes the embassy emails me and says our visa number is not found. And then sometimes they are very aware of our case/visa number. This embassy honestly sounds like a total mess...

Good Night All, Has anyone gotten their new interviews from Bridgetown yet? I am waiting to be scheduled for an interview, case was closed last week.
blank avatar Islandg767 on 2021-03-10 said:
Nothing here yet.
Cayessdee on 2021-03-10 said:
Still nothing. I also check the site daily. They still have new daily cases. Perhaps they are waiting for the cases to stop before offering interviews. Shrug.

I received a link to book a new appointment but every time I log in, it says nothing available.. this is so sad

Anyone have any updates? I am no longer getting a response from the embassy when I email them, not even the generic response....
blank avatar Islandg767 on 2021-03-16 said:
Nothing yet. Once I hear anything, I’ll post
blank avatar RAABT on 2021-03-16 said:
Okay, that would be great. Barbados is pretty much totally open again says their news station. There's even a movie being filmed there now. Restaurants are open etc. This seems insane and really sad...ugh
Cayessdee on 2021-03-29 said:
Hey all, just wondering if y’all heard anything?
blank avatar RAABT on 2021-03-30 said:
When I asked yesterday about appointments this is what they said: "Good Day, The embassy is currently offering limited immigrant visa services; however, we are not yet scheduling new appointments. We will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time. Until such time, please follow any instructions and check our website below regularly for more information as it is made available.  We cannot give a date when routine services will resume." The visa issuance for CR1 for February 2021, when they said they were shut down was 40. And 4 for K1s. No records out yet for March 2021. When I reached out to a lawyer they said it seems like the embassy is having trouble and they were unsure they could assist in movement. But to be aware that the embassy could be clearing all the backlog for the Trump visa bans before they get to those of us that have been waiting since December 2020. I sure hope that's not the case and I really thought that Department of homeland security said to prioritize all spouses, (CR1) and finances before getting to the visa ban categories...

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
