Consulate Review: Frankfurt, Germany
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 16, 2019
Embassy Review : I had my interview August 14th. Everyone was super friendly (even holding the door for me, because I brought our 2month old son). If you speak either German or English and have all your documents in order (and obviously are in a real relationship) there's really nothing to be worried about. You even get some info material telling you all about what to expect on your interview day. The interview was pretty conversational, in general these were the topics that came up:
- where when and how did you meet?
- how did the relationship develop?
- did you see each other after you went back to Germany and he went back to Hawaii?
- did you ever meet his parents/did he meet yours?
- When and where do you want to get married?
- Where are you going to live?
- What did you do when you lived in *insert countries*
- When did you last see each other?
- Do you have your sons CRBA and US passport

That was about it. She then informed me that I'm approved and will get my passport with the visa back in 7-10 days.
Pretty positive experience, took maybe 2 hours in total, about 5 minutes for the interview.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
