Comments : We were married on 25 Nov 07. Incredible as it may seem we did not receive the authenticated copy of the Marraige Certificate until 22 Jan 07. We can now change her passport to her married name and then we can finally submit the I-130.

Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 11, 2007
Embassy Review : The interview took about 5 minutes, 3 of which we sat and watched the interviewer enter info into the database. As the sponsor, i was also permitted to be there. They only asked three questions: my wife's name, my step-son's name, and the nature of my job.

I advise all to arrive early. There are over 200 people and the embassy does a great job of organizing them into chohorts to ease the process as much as possible in the limited amount of space available. Our appointment time was 0700, we arrived at 0615 and our interview was at about 0915.

One thing we forgot was the glue or tape to fix the passport photos onto the application. Other than that it went very smooth! After the interview, the DELBROS station is a bit more confusing. DELBROS is the company that will actually deliver the passport and visa to you. Our interview was on 4 October, and we actually received the passport on 10 October, of course there was a 3 day weekend in that time as well. i guess that means you should be prepared to wait anywhere from 3 to 6 days if you are in the Manila area, otherwise I assume it would be longer.

Good luck to everyone!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
