Local US CIS Office Review: Cleveland OH

Event Description
Review Date : April 13, 2010
Embassy Review : Interview date: Apr. 12, 2010 at 9:45am

We went to the Cleveland CIS office around 9:10am, and placed the initial interview letter in a box. While we're waiting the officers told us there's something wrong with the Naturalization computer system so that there's a delay for about 30 minutes for the scheduled interview.

We're called in at 10:40am. The IO immediately had us sworn in. The IO then first repeated what's written on my husband's papers and had him answered yes or no. After that, the IO repeated what's written on my papers and had me answered yes or no.

Then he asked my husband how we met, what kind of wedding we had, how many people were at the wedding, are we planning to have kids. Afterwards, the IO wanted me to show proof of our marriage. I gave him our photos, health insurance, auto insurance, joint bank checks. He looked through those, complimented our wedding, asked us who were those people in the pictures.

Then IO asked me: "Is it the first time you enter US?" I answered No. Then he asked: "How many times you've entered US?" I immediately answered: "Wow, good question." I was nervous at that time and didn't know what to say. After 30 seconds or so I answered: "I've been here three times when I was a kid, and in 2007 I reentered for school, reentered twice in 2008 after trip to Germany and Taiwan, and then reentered again in August 2009, so total is 7 times." The IO actually wrote down what I said on the paper.

Finally the invertiew was over. The IO told us that I'll get a conditional green card. He then said the reasons for issuing a conditional card is because our marriage has been less than a year, and because recently they found out there's a lot of fraudulent marriages; people file for divorce once they get green card.

He then handed me a customer guide and informing me to file I-751 w/ 90 days of card expiring. He even wrote it down on the back of that customer guide.

At 8pm, I got a txt message and email notifying "card production ordered"

Yeah~

Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
