JFK POE spelled my fiances name wrong. Have to go to USCIS via appt to have it corrected. He cannot obtain his ss card until this happens. Appt on 6/27/14.
JFK also did not issue the i-94 ...what next...grrrr....If you are not issued your i94 at the POE, go to this website and print it out: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html |

Other than about a 30 to 40 minute wait my husband was given his passport and told, "Welcome". He was fingerprinted and received in one room where we both waited a his yellow visa packet was opened and his passport was stamped [along with mine]. Then he had his photo taken his eye scanned, fingerprints. [about a 10 minute wait] Then he was brought into another room where he waited until an immigration officer could authenticate his IR-1 visa by sight. When the officer looked at it he just handed my husband's passport back and welcomed him into the US. This was about 30 minutes wait. JFK has improved their POE with computer bays but we bypassed all of that and went straight into the immigration/permanent resident visa new entry room.
Don't make the mistake of entering with your spouse and standing on the line 2 times go straight into the receiving room with your spouse. It could actually be quicker for both of you. |
