Everything was very smooth. I went through immigration and the lady didnt ask me anything, I gave her the sealed envelope, she opened it. I was a little worried because I had my x-ray exam in my luggage and she told me it wasnt necessary at that time. She took my fingerprints and she told me to go all the way dowm the hall. She gave me back everything and I went to a room where a few of people were. I left the documents on the desk and then an immigration officer took it. I waited and waited and then he called me. He asked me when we were getting married. I said: December 8th; and he asked: am I invited to the wedding? and I said: of course. Then he gave me my passsport with my I-94 and the employment authorization stamped in the back of the I-94 form. He wished me good luck and I was ready to go. |

Procedure was quick and simple. I got in the regular immigration-visitor line which moved slowly, I waited for one hour exactly. Then I got to the officer who was friendly and asked no quetsions, I just handed him the white form from the plane, passport and envelope and from then on it took at the most 10 minutes. Asked about the EAD he reacted surprised that I would even ask and said that I would of course get one but from a different guy. I then was sent down a hallway to a desk on the other side of the luggage claim, handed another officer the forms from the envelope and waited another approx. 10 minutes, then I was sent on my way with the EAD-stamp. All in all easy, but with the waiting time it took roughly 90 minutes. Nothing scary about it though. |
