The officer must have been new to the job and needed assistance from a colleague. He asked questions such as "Is your fiancée Australian as well?" and "How long do you intend to stay in the US?". Clearly not briefed on what a K1 actually entails.
The other officer seemed to know what is to happen and told the other what to fill out etc. I was issued an A number, which will be my green card no. when I receive it. He forgot to write this no. in my passport and followed me to baggage claim to do so.
Not what I expected from a US Immigration Officer. |

Entering on my K1 visa here at LAX was easier than when entering as a tourist on the visa waiver programme. I was asked absolutely no questions whatsoever, a total breeze, in and out in 10 minutes. |
