People at POE were friendly and efficient. They remembered us from when I called regarding the Temp EAD while I was still in Singapore.. the Chief Immigration officer actually came out to the processing area and apologized, saying that she had made an error and advised us incorrectly. She told us that it was revised USCIS policy to NOT issue temp EAD at POE any more, and even showed us the regulation. She said she didn't know on what authority JFK was doing it, but she sincerely wished she could for us (and I think she really sincerely wanted to help us).
Oh well, we tried hard, and we didn't get the temp EAD, but at least we are here, together, married, and very happy. |

Passport control, then he was taken aside and had to sit in a room for approx. 1 hour after which had a brief Q&A and then was let through customs and sent on his way. |
