By pure coincidence, my Vietnamese fiancee had a Vietnamese-born immigration officer at POE Detroit airport. No favoritism, no hassle, and no problems. Took about one hour to get through the line and about 10 minutes at the window. |

Crossed on the Tijuana Airport Cross Border Xpress using a one time Advance Parole document. The officers were extremely nice. Definitely will be using the TJ airport and the Cross Border Xpress everytime we travel to Mexico to see the family from now on. |

At the Airport:
He gave package to the officer at the air port. Was asked to take a seat and waited about 15 minutes. The officer called him over and said:"Is your wife here in Chicago?" My husband answered, "She lives in Indiana but is here in Chicago to pick me up." The officer said, "Welcome to United States of America!"

Very smooth process, glad we were in a POE with not a lot of traffic.
Presented our passports (my US and my wife's Thai) to the customs agent along with the envelope from the embassy. He referred us to secondary processing to which I could join my wife.
In Secondary Processing, envelope was opened, we were asked if the mailing address was still the same, upon confirming they stamped my wife's visa and we were welcomed into the USA.
Total process around 5 minutes. |

The officer asked me some questions. Was professional about it and answered some questions I had afterwards too in a helpful manner. |
