Shawn was lucky and was able to avoid the mean lady at the Seattle Port of entry. She was the last one in line, and because the lady was taking so long she was able to get in another line. Shawn also met another filipina that has been in and out of the USA for 10 years and she was complaining cause she still gets harrased by the officers when she enters the USA. |

We used the book \"Fiance and Marriage Visas: A Couple\'s Guide to U.S. Immigration\" by Ilona Bray, which recommended that when the immigrant enters the US, they ask for a temporary work permit. The book does mention that the gov is phasing this out.
My husband did what the book recommended and asked for a temporary work permit. The gov people laughed at him. He got out the book to show them why he had asked, and they laughed at him some more. |

I totally forgot to ask about the EAD, and in spite of all the stories I had heard about Miami as a POE, my experience was completely sweet. The officer that I got at the line was nice and explained that I only needed the bottom part of the I-94 and that I had to hold on to it for dear life. The officer at secondary inspection was really nice and joked about my wedding and explained everything about the 90 day period and how I should go about the AOS. On October 3rd, I went to the Pittsburgh CIS office where I got my temp EAD, the ladies there were OH SO NICE, I couldnt believe it... SO all in all, everything has been pretty good for me. |
