Just took time. Lots of time. A few international flights must have landed close together. Arrivals was very busy - took over an hour to reach the desk. Then the wait in the back room took another 40 minutes. Good thing I'd chosen a 4 hour connection and not risked the 2 hour option!! |

Stuck in line for ~ 40 minutes behind another passenger who didn't have his documents organized. Once she got to the officer, she was cleared in about 5 minutes. |

There is an American pre-clearance facility in Nassau, Bahamas. I entered there I was told by the USA immigration Officer there that because my K1 Visa petition had expired in May 2009 (although the K1 visa was approved in April 2009), I was illegally entering the USA and; my file would be forward to CIS immediately who may not approve my AOS because of this. The officer also cited some personal motives and stated that I should immediately marry to avoid this??? This I find strange but then again I'm happy to be with my USC SO. |
