Easy enough, they knew their stuff which was great, didn't have to go into a seperate room or anything, but travelling on independance day weekend probably wasn't the best move. |

My dad drove me across the border at Sault Ste. Marie. We drove up to the booth and I showed them I had an immigration package so he called some people to bring us to secondary. He said "what you do? Get married or something?" I said yep! He also asked me where all my stuff was, and I told him it was in the car. A man and a woman came and met our car and led us to secondary. We left everything in the car except my purse. When we got inside they told us to sit down. Since they don't get a lot of immigrant visas at this border, they had to get out the binder of instructions. All the other people working there were all kind of joking with each other and being sarcastic. It was really different than before I had my paperwork in order...they were all really intimidating and kind of mean when i tried to cross.
They called me up to verify the information and opened my envelope. They took my fingerprint with ink...but just my right index finger. I had to do it twice and it had to be in the middle of this small square. Then I had to sign in this little box. Then they did a few more things reviewing the file and told me congratulations and welcome to the USA and handed our passports back.
The whole thing was kind of anit-climactic after this whole process...but so glad to be done! :) |
