My POE experience was pretty uneventful. They were quite busy, so it took a long time. I think I was there for nearly 3 hours, but most of that time was spent sitting and waiting. The officer who was processing everything for me had never dealt with a CR-1 before, but he was really nice and polite and thorough. He checked lots of details with his supervisor, and while that added to the wait, I appreciated that he took the time to verify that everything was being done correctly so that I wouldn't encounter any problems down the road.
He gave me a copy of the form I have to send in if I change my address and explained it. He also gave me a copy of the I-751 form and said I'd need it eventually but he wasn't sure of the details. Heh.
I also imported my car and that was pretty simple, too. The officer filled out the forms for me, so all I had to do was provide him with my car registration and compliance letter and sign the forms. He then made a few sets of copies of everything for me.
It wasn't a bad experience at all. |

took me at the most 10 mins at the immigration....excluding retrieving my luggages of cors...had a great POE at SFO!! tnxx God!! |

It took 3 hours to get her out of JFK Customs, maybe 10 minutes of which was in processing.
Went to the SSA office with our Chinese Marriage Cert and her Passport. Added my last name to her new name. All good. |
