Star_dragon him & me Chicago 2009-04-06 No Yes - High A painless process! We traveled home together and my fiance and I were both in the visitor's line. The longest wait was the actual line. Once we got up there, the officer started by joking when he saw the sealed brown envelope saying "What is all this!!!" and I said "Oh, you know...some important papers or something......" Haha. He stamped my passport and took care of that and then he opened the my fiance's brown sealed envelope and looked for what he needed, stamped his passport and attached the I-94. He took my fiance's fingerprints, told him to smile, asked when the wedding was, asked where we going to live (city) and that was it. I thought they would take him somewhere else to process, but they didn't. It took less than 5 minutes. We got our luggage and went through the line to scan it for customs, which took another minute. 2009-10-13
Ajit & Shivani Newark 2009-04-06 No No - High All went smooth. Just note that if you are USA citizen traveling with your fiance that you need to go in the USA line at the immigration area and your fiance needs to go in the foreigners line. You can not go in the same line with them. Also. if you find yourself waiting for your fiance after you have gone through customs/immigration in Newark. Before you wait to long ask and officer about your fiance. Chances are that your fiance has been taken downstairs through a separate door that you do not go through nor that you can even see. Make sure to take the stairs or the elevator downstairs. There you will find your luggage and your fiance will be inside kinda dark room with glass doors finishing up there processings. You just need to wait it may take awhile depending on how many people there are and also depending on where they were in the line up. Be patient. It can feel kind of nerve racking but it is all normal but can take some time. 2015-04-05
