Very quick, very painless. Something we did not expect considering what we have read about Detroit, and what I myself have experienced while coming home from Japan. Immigration asked how long she had been married, even though the officer was looking over her K-1 fiancée visa. Perhaps a trick question. Officer then asked when we planned on getting married, and after her response of "in a week and a half", the officer then reminded her that she had 90 days to get married. Maybe the officer was just reading from a queue card or something. Who knows. But it was a surprisingly painless and quick process. |

My POE is in Honolulu, HI. Everyone seemed really nice and friendly. Only that it took a very long time since there were more people ahead of me. I was able to board my connecting flight just in time before the flight. I think i was second to the last who boarded the plane and for first-timers, that really scared me. But everyone is nice. |

Arrived on one of the first flights of the day (5:45 a.m.) and we were one of the first people in line at immigration. We were directed to pick up our bags and then go to the immigration office where the desks were empty, so we took a seat and waited about 20 minutes. There wasn't anyone else waiting, and when the officer came out he asked for my husband to hand over the manila envelope from the Consulate. He opened it up and asked my husband to take a seat while he looked through whatever papers he wanted to look at. About 3 minutes later he asked my husband to go to the desk to take his fingerprint and sign an electronic signature (to be put on the Green Card) and then he said "Ok, you're all set." And we weren't asked to have our bags checked or to go through Customs at all. We left the office area and as we exited we handed our Customs Declaration form and walked into the airport section. The only question we were asked was when we went to the first immigration officer (right when we had gotten off of the plane) and he asked how long we had been married... then he said that since we had been married for less than 2 years we will have to re-apply for the green card before it expires in two years. |

1 hour, 10 minute wait just to be seen by Customs after long line at Passport Control. Connecting flight seemed in jeopoardy but it worked out. Someone thought it was their job to repeat the interview process on behalf of Homeland Security this time... asking many of the same questions... how did you meet, how long have you known each other, etc. |

Very smooth process. My fiancee left the airport within 45 minutes of touchdown. Immigration formalities took less than 10 minutes. Few basic questions were asked like name of petitioner etc. Was told to get married within 90 days. |
