STL_HCMC Thuy & Jay Los Angeles 2006-09-29 No Yes - High Was a very pleasant experience for my fiancee and I coming in through LAX. As noted on many sections of VisaJourney, we had the 'mystery brown envelope' out and in her hand as we approached the arrivals hall. We were immediately approached by an official directing us into the appropriate line. We were both processed through the non-residents line and it was pleasant and less than 10 minutes total in processing. The immigration officer first processed my US Citizen arrival card, and then moved on to opening and inspecting the paperwork of the brown envelope. He had a few standard questions of how we met, how long I had been living in Vietnam, etc., and then made a comical comment about the paperwork required for the K1, even with the 'paperwork reduction act' notice listed on many forms. After this, both of my fiancee's index fingers were scanned, photo was taken, passport and I-94 stamped and stapled inside the passport. It was that easy and a very pleasant experience. 2011-12-12
