Really easy process. Drove from Alberta to Montana, was at the border for about 1 hour. However, the agent starting processing me as the wrong visa so it took longer than it probably should have been. I was happy with it though as I thought it would take much longer. I was surprised that the officer did not look at anything in the vehicle, nor was I asked to declare anything. An officer looked at the VIN number of my vehicle and that is about it. I had the sealed package sent by USCIS, my passport and documents for my vehicle. It was not nearly as stressful as I thought it would be. |

We crossed at Peace Bridge in Niagara Falls. The officer stationed at the booth was very stern and kept trying to mess us up. When we told him we were entering using my K1 Visa he asked me "So you two are married then, yes?" To which I said "Not yet". Then he asked me if we were going to apply for the K1 Visa - and I said "Well, we already did, and we got that visa there, and now we have to do the next steps"
He turned to his computer for a few seconds then asked my fiance to open up our u-haul so that he could take a look inside of it. No problems there, my fiance got back in the car and two seconds later he asked me if I had all of the paper work, and asked to see it before handing over a little ticket.
We pulled over, waited 2hrs inside the building and 5 minutes talking to an officer we were approved and continued on home!!!!! <3 |
