P & K Vancouver 2010-08-13 - High There was no 'harassment' but the entire process took about 5 hours. This included a two hour car line up to get to the border crossing, then a one hour human line up once at secondary, then hours to process the CR1 visa and import two cars. There has to be more effeciency at the border. 2013-01-13

Philandjulie p & j Vancouver 2010-11-01 Yes - High Went to PAC Highway crossing in BC, based on my Lawyers advice. Sumas and Lynden crossings have a rep for being "rogue" borders that don't know what they are doing. This was true to my experience when I was harrassed and mistreated by an immigration officer at Sumas when authorizing a simple student visa a few years back. The lady processing my case was very professional. It took her about 45 minutes just with my case, but I could tell she was double checking everything and making sure to do it right. So I was happy with that. She also didn't charge me anything to import my car since it was originally from the states. I shook her hand and had a big smile when it was all done and thanked her for her time. I got her to crack a smile, even though she was putting on a very serious look throughout the process :) The only thing I was annoyed with was that they told us there were no public bathrooms. This poor five year old next to me kept saying she had to go to the bathroom and they wouldn't let anybody go. However, when I was done my fingerprinting the lady said that there was actually a bathroom around the corner that I could use to wash the ink off my hand. I thought it was very inhumane that they had a bathroom available but wouldn't let anybody use it. 2010-11-03
Naviomelo Naveen & Melody Vancouver 2008-10-04 No Yes - High Moved swiftly, no waiting in secondary. POE officer explained AOS process and that I was not allowed to go back to Canada in the meantime. Flight was at 2:30 pm on a weekday. 2018-11-16

Kitkat & Ninjapants Vancouver 2012-01-10 No Yes - High It took about an hour from the time I entered secondary till the Immigration Officer began processing my documents in the sealed envelope. The IO was the kindest IO I have ever come across... not stern at all, she was smiling and laughing during the 15 minutes it took to process everything. Wish they were all like her! 2016-06-07
Amy & Calvin Vancouver 2008-11-14 No Yes - High The Immigration Officer was very nice however, slow... We almost missed our plane as he was busy eating his cheetos and talking to the Officer next to him. 2017-10-25
