Upon arriving at Miami International Airport, I was escorted to a waiting area where nationals from certain countries were seated. After a while, they called my name, and the officer politely asked me a few questions about my studies and the visa process. He explained that I would need to inform USCIS in advance if I wanted to leave the U.S., as I only had a single-entry visa with a 3-month entry window. He then attached Form I-94 to my passport and welcomed me to the United States. |

The airport was really quiet do to Covid. I was the only 1 in line for the visa's and the officer didn't know I had a k1 until he asked how long I was planning to stay and I responded 'indefinitely'. I then got taken into secondary where I was the only 1. It took a while, the guy processing my visa never did a K1 and was instructed by another officer. They had to explain everything to him (how a k1 is not an immigrant visa and all). I heard them talking about the pictures in the package "aw they look so in love" in another room. They did not take the X-ray cd or even look at it. After 45 minutes they stamped my passport and put I paper I-95 in it and after telling me I have to get married in 90 days I was good to go 🙂. No weird questions or anything, just a long wait because they had to work in the officer helping me. |
