Apart from the long wait, I had no issues. I was guarding the paperwork like it was my baby! POE step 1, asked me what I did, what my wife did and that's it. Put the paper work in a red folder thing and told me to go to second inspection, it's towards the right, well marked, can't miss it. Handed in everything at the desk and you wait your turn. They didn't check for tampering or anything, did all paper work, handed back my x-ray, as wasn't needed. Called me up I signed a paper twice and took my prints, that's it. I am a American LPR |

Queued with everyone else for an hour - then directed to another room where my packet was opened and examined, stamped together with my passport - and that was it! |

I had to wait for about 10 minutes, asked 2 questions relating to my fiancee and then sent on my way, totally hassle free. |

After I got to secondary processing I was called forward right away by a man who opened my brown envelope and then started filling out some forms. This went on for about 10 minutes without him speaking to me at which point he was interrupted by his colleague who told him the forms were not needed for K-1 visas. His colleague then told him to just give me 90 days and sign off my customs declaration form.
While the first man did that, the second told me that for 90 days I was free to travel to either Mexico or Canada and would be allowed back into the USA with my K-1. He stressed this was only for 90 days. (I don't trust this information) He then reminded me to get married within 90 days and file AOS.
Whole process took 15 minutes and the first 10 were wasted. No questions, no hassle, just an idiot child trainee. |
