Straightforward entry at Chicago - 45 mins of queuing in the Vistor/Visa line, and then 5 mins at the counter where I was asked to clarify the address I'll be living at (it was missing an apartment number). No further questions asked, stamp received & on I went. |

O'Hare Airport is a busy one, and as usual, it was quite a wait in the immigration line. The officer I got was efficient and thorough. I provided him with the sealed yellow envelopes that I had received from the embassy, along with my passport. He took my picture and fingerprints and then looked through the evidence in the yellow envelopes. He asked me seven questions about myself or my fiancé, based on the contents in front of him. He kindly reminded me to get married within 90 days and to also adjust status within those 90 days to prevent an overstay. After that, he welcomed me to America; no secondary interview was needed. |
