Julia & Matt Toronto 2015-11-16 No Yes - High I arrived at the airport four hours before my flight just to be safe. The pre inspection took about 10 minutes - fingerprints, couple questions, officer reiterated K1 etc. I then proceeded to the secondary inspection room where I waited for just over an hour. My yellow envelope had a tear of about an inch and a half in it to which the officer questioned if I had opened it. I told him no and that it was already that way. He asked me a couple questions about where we met, the address we would be living at, what my fiance does and then my passport was stamped and we were all done. Overall, it was a simple enough experience. The two officers were very straight forward and intense and while the lady from the first inspection warmed up towards the end, the gentleman in secondary inspection was having none of it. My advice to anyone travelling through Pearson is to arrive as early as possible. There were a couple people in the room who narrowly missed their flights despite arriving the recommended hour early! 2019-05-18

Leo & Eddie Toronto 2016-10-14 No No - High Originally my POE was going to be in Calgary, but due to a flight booking mishap it's in Toronto instead. I went to the POE officer and showed him my K1 Visa, and he radioed a colleague for help as he was unsure what to do at this point. Eventually he put my passport and customs form in a yellow envelope and gave the envelope to me, and directed me to secondary. At secondary, I gave my yellow envelope to the first officer I could see in there, and then I was asked to sit and wait in the lounge of the secondary inspection. It took FOREVER because they were very slow and having random chatter amongst themselves about personal stuff like baseball and such, not related to the job and clearly not rushing things because people in secondary definitely don't have a plane to catch (sarcasm). Eventually after around 45 minutes, I was called up and asked some very basic routine questions such as when we're getting married, what his name was, and what his job entailed. After that, he stamped my passport and admitted me to the U.S. This process itself took around 5 minutes. I read other reviews about people inventorying everything they had in their luggage and such, but they didn't seem to care about the contents aside from the fact I was bringing two bags with me. No hassle at all, it just took forever and unfortunately I missed my flight because of it. I'm actually sitting in U.S. Pre-clearance in the Toronto Pearson airport waiting for my rebooked flight down. 2021-03-26
