Getting out of the airport was easier than I thought. I did wait a lot since I had to go on the visitors with visa line instead of the US citizens and residents line. When I got to the officer he was pretty nice. My husband was not allowed to accompany me on the visitors line so I talked to the officer alone. He and another officer actually flirted with me and said "if I was your husband I wouldn't take my eyes off you", a bit uncomfortable but oh well... the 2nd officer took me to an office with more police officers who I have the package to. They read the documents and stamped my passport. My luggage wasn't even checked. Easier than I thought it would be. |

Arrived on a thursday evening around 6:30pm. An officer escorted me to the second revision room. I handed over my sealed letter and from there had to wait +7h30 to be taken to a small room were an officer asked a few question, stamped my passport and welcomed me. I noticed that they handled the immigrant visa people at the very last (last flight landing). |

was not allowed to accompany fiance and had to wait outside of the general immigration area. i wondered how they would have contacted me if there was a problem. agents were polite so maybe there's never any issues. |

This is a very big airport, so please have that in mind for you not to lose your connections. Other than that I had a nice experience in Houston. The CBP was huge and full of people but the line I was was redirected to be attended faster. I went to a booth were a mexican officer was, so I could speak Spanish for a little while, he saw my K-1 package and asked another officer to escort me to a small secondary inspection room, in there I sat for almost 3 minutes and an officer called me to a counter, he then asked me when the marriage will be, how much money I had at the moment and when I met my fiancée; just those 3 questions, he then stamped my passport and let me go. No harrasment or disrespect whatsoever, everything for me was great that day. A piece of advise to everyone, if you're immigrating, in your carry on have every single document you think might be relevant, even if the officers just look the really necessary ones you'll have everything at hand just in case they need to see them or something like that. |
