Everything went smoothly. Just had to wait for a while though as there were quite a lot of people in the office area they take you to. |

Strangely enough, she was not even processed beyond the normal immigration line. She was never sent to any other office or interviewed in any way. They simply took her fingerprints, stamped her passport and sent her on her way. |

both times, first with K-1 and then with AP, we were taken into secondary questioning, and both times had to wait for all the others in the room to be asked a million questions and then they would finally get to us, and just send us through. i don't know if this is common or what.. but hopefully travel on green card will be much smoother.. UPDATE: travel on green card was no problem- no secondary questioning, just sent right through. |

Make sure you have enough time between connections....immigration took close to 75 minutes between the immigration line, and K1 Process procedure...but otherwise, it was easy..... |

Fiancee entered alone, in Visitors' line. While waiting for her flight to land, I called the IAH Customs & Border Protection line, asked to be transferred to Immigration, and asked how long today's wait would be. Although on weekdays around 2:15p the wait can be 1 to 3 hours, I was told "30 minutes." The actual was perhaps 45 minutes. Fiancee said that the lady CBP officer was efficient, asked several basic questions (when we planned marriage, when was the last time I [the fiance] visited, had she [the fiancee] been in the U.S. before), and spent most of the time filling out the internal CBP forms. Officer pointed out that 90 days would be 1/9/09. Zero harassment. At IAH, you can wait for your incoming loved one on the bottom level of Terminal E in the "International Arrivals" area (known on the airport's website as the "Customs meet & greet" area). |
