Daly & Matt Denver 2008-06-25 No Yes - High Really from Winnipeg to Denver, but winnipeg is not a pull down option. Boo! At the initial querying desk, I burst out crying handing my passport over. The officer looked surprised but then said, "I'm not mean, I don't bite. This gun is really just for show in this case." I explained about just having said good bye to my family and how worried I am about my mom, etc etc. He asked me a few simple questions, took the envelope, wrote a big "K-1" on the US customs & declaration card then sent me on my way to the official immigration desk along with my envelope. At the desk, I had three officer's trying to figure out how to process a K-1; it was interesting. Apparently they don't get it often enough to have everyone consistently trained in how to. Ok, anyways though, aside from that, they were very nice, very chatty and made me feel at ease. I'm almost certain one of the officers was one who had chewed me out two years ago for using one-way tickets to travel. Ok, so, everything gets cleared up, and I'm getting ready to board the plane when I see one of the officers scanning the crowd. I wave at him, figuring he's looking for me. He tells the flight attendant doing the boarding call to hold the plane for me and to watch my carry-on roller bag so he can escort me back to the US desk to borrow me for 3 minutes. The flight attendant says no, the US officer insists further until the flight attendant gives in. So, he personally escorts me through security because they forgot to fingerprint me and take a picture. XD Then, I get escorted through the security again, this time very quickly in time to run to the boarding and to hear the officer yell out "Welcome to the US!" Overall, I'm actually happy that the fingerprinting and picture taking had forgotten until the last minute. It was a big enough distraction to stop me from bawling further. 2009-05-31
Yassine & Jamie Denver 2008-05-02 Yes,Passport Stamp Yes - High The immigration officers were very busy on the day we arrived, but were very nice, helpful and considerate. 2008-05-18
blank avatar A & C Denver 2007-09-28 No Yes - High The officer's bad handwriting cost me 3 months of hassles. They inputed B1 instead of K1 in the SAVE system due to sloppy handwriting. 2010-12-03
