POE was Calgary. The Officer I had did not do many K-1 visas so he asked to see the copy of the letter of intent which was used in the application part. Took it out of my paperwork showed it to him he made a copy for my file. Gave the the run down about AOS and Adanved Parole and Work Auth which I could not file for until we started the AOS process. |

Easy breezy!
It took a minute with the customs dude at the Montreal airport. He knew what he was doing. Took my packages to his office, gone for maybe 15 minutes came back and gave me my passport with the I94 stapled inside. |

I went through the POE at the Queenston -Lewiston Bridge and thought that at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday but there were already several people activating visas ahead of me and it took almost 3 full hours to activate my CR-1 and import my car. There weren't any hassles at all from the personnel there. Actually, there were pretty helpful. I had made a list of all my belongings that were in the car, but when I tried to give it to them they just asked me if everything that I was bringing was mine. When I said yes, they said it was fine. All in all, it was a very good experience. I was worried that I would get trouble from them because ever since the application for the visa was filed I got pulled into secondary inspection a lot when traveling. But, luckily everything went A-OK. |
