I went to primary passport control as usual and gave them my envelope. He tore it open and stamped one of the forms and my visa and sent me to secondary passport control with all the forms.For once there was no-one else down there and I was seen within a couple of minutes. I was given a form to sign in 2 places. They covered it up except where I had to sign so I've no idea what I was signing and they took one ink fingerprint of the index finger of my right hand in 2 places again with the form covered up. She asked if I had applied for a social security number. I said yes. She told me I'd get my green card in 2 to 5 months but the visa in my passport would serve as a green card till then. And that was it. |
