Got stuck in the Immigration waiting room for 3 hours. We were not given a reason...just taken in there and told to wait. As it turns out, it wasn't a big deal. Our K-1 petition took ~ 8 months to be approved/stamped in the passport. However, the initial K-1 petition expires automatically after 6 months. Normally, the IVU/Embassy will auto-extend the original K-1 petition, however in our case this didn't happen. So, we had to wait in the immigration waiting room for 3 hours, then they called us to the desk, told us what happened, and stamped our K-1 file as 'updated' and told us 'Welcome!' |
