At the immigration counter, the officer asked me where I come from, he then asked me where my fiancee lives, and if I am going to connect at the airport to reach her city.
he then called a security officer who has taken me to a waiting room with many desks.
I was called by a black woman who was at the desk, she asked me just a few questions:
-What's your age?
-Since when did u know your fiancee?
-How many times did she visit you?
-Why she visited once?
-Why you didn't send her money to visit you?
She then told me" you have 90 days to get married."
I asked if I should go through NSEERS since I was MENA citizen, she told me "no, it was not required" after checking with her colleague"
all the process took 15 min, and I didn't even have time to sweat :) |

Our entry into the United States went a lot more smoothly and quickly than I anticipated. In fact, it went so smoothly that we wound up waiting over 4 hours in Chicago O'Hare for our connecting flight. |

The Immigration Officer was so nice and he asked me why I didn't go to the faster lane for passengers who have connecting flights. I didn't know about that but I chose him cuz my first impression was that he looked so kind :) He asked me few questions about my fiance and sister too. Then even showed me my fiance's picture on my files and that's it. |

The immigration guys in Houston were not very knowledgeable about the K-1 visa and the entire process. They said I had to get married immediately, because the Green Card MUST be issued during the validity of the K-1 visa. And having said that, the lady totally forgot to give me my I-94 departure record back before she sent me out. |
