After my interview at the consulate they gave me a manila envelope.....which was taped and said "DO NOT OPEN". If you open it you will have to start the process all over again. I left from the Montreal airport to enter the U.S. When you go through customs they ask you all the normal information: reason for entering; tell them you are using your K-1 Fiancee Visa for entry. They verify your information on your passport, take your finger prints; then the Officer takes you, along with your passport, and manila envelope to Immigration. In the Immigration office, I just had to sit and wait until my name was called. I also had to fill out the I-94 Card in which they staple inside your passport. The Immigration officer asked me a few questions and that was it! It was honestly nothing to worry about; they didn't even check my bags! |

Ahmed decided he wanted to surprise me so didn't tell me he was coming till he got stuck in NY. They kept him in immigration while they called DC for 2 hours. He did ask them to change his visa from CR to IR, but they said no and told him to do it at immigration here. They set him up in a hotel and he will arrive in Portland tomorrow morning 3-12-09, God willing. |
