Natalia & Ted Vermont Service Center 2014-01-27 2014-02-04 2014-03-07 2015-01-22 Yes No 2015-02-12 Requested email notification but never received any. The letter (NOA) extends the green card one year and permits travel outside the US. Also alerts us to watch for another NOA with a biometrics appointment. Our check was accepted despite making it payable to USCIS Vermont Service Center instead of United States Department of Homeland Security as required by the I-751 instructions. Cool. 3.7.14; Biometrics took 60 minutes. Brand new, spacious and plush building with the same number of staff as 2.5 years before except that time the same service took only 10 minutes. Staff couldn't answer the question why another set of fingerprints and photo needed. Back in the early 80s the overall cost of an adjustment of status case cost $90.00. Today the fees and costs we've suffered have run over $2000.00. What for; new buildings? Interview took 25 minutes total. Officer very nice, compassionate and understanding. Did not ask for any of the documents the letter told us to bring. Officer said not sure why the interview was required but did our oaths and asked about 5 questions; full names, dates of birth, country of citizenship, other names we've had, any arrests/convictions, etc. No questions about our married life and frankly it appeared the officer had decided to approve our petition before even calling us in to the office from the waiting room. But I guess that's what a well prepared petition should do, right? Only downside is the cost and time to attend as the city was 400 miles from home. Honestly, the experience showed clearly the petition could have been approved without it. So, so very glad this is all over and we can get on with our life now. Whew!! New 10 year card arrived in today's mail. A very nice Valentine's Day present for us both! Our best wishes to everyone else going through this same process. It can be won so please don't give up. 2019-04-23
