Flight landed at Raleigh-Durham International Airport at 14:50.
There was a long queue so it took me around 2 hours to get done but the actual procedure lasted for only about 25 minutes.
I went to the immigration counter, the lady asked me what was the purpose of my visit? I told her I was there on an immigrant visa. She asked if I had the visa packet and I handed it to her. She scanned my fingerprints, marked my embarkation card and directed me to another area. I collected my baggage, had to wait for about 15 minutes till the officer was ready to see me. I was asked to sign a form and apply my fingerprint on it. After that, the officer said Welcome to U.S.A. and you are good to go. The officers were very polite and friendly, it was a positive experience.

Aside from having to wait until all 300+ other passengers from the flight had been processed at immigration it was an easy entry. Had to fill a form in and sign and finger print it. They didn't want my x-rays. The supervisor processed me and recognised me after being given a hard time during my other entries when visiting....I said it felt good to be not stood in tears!!! He even said welcome to America!!! It was the best feeling ever to walk through arrivals into my husbands arms.

I have entered into RDU many times before under both the VWP and on my F1 Visa with no problems at all. It was always fast, effiecient with friendly guys.
However, on this trip I was entering under VWP howver when I told the officer I was 'visiting my husband' he questioned me a bit. I told him our I-130 was being processed (at this time, still by USCIS) and he informed me I should not really have come, as you are not supposed to travel until it is approved. I knew this was not the case as I did research before I left and knew I could still visit hubby while waiting. Anyway the immigration officer told me "well I'll let you in this time, don't overstay, and it would be adviseable to not come back until you have it approved". I knew this would be my last visit anyway before I got the greencard, but did not expect this.
When I later posted on forums about this, people said he must have been learning or having a bad day because you are allowed to travel still while your paperwork is being processed.
So yeah. All in all it was only a 10 minute delay, which didnt affect me..... but then the luggage belt had a fault and it took an extra 25 mins to get my luggage haha !!
Overall a afriendly POE, and one that is not too busy normally.
