My fiance was told to arrive at the consulate at 8AM which he did. He did have to wait for a bit but then was called up and interviewed by an American man. The interview was conducted in English which my fiance liked being he sort of enjoys showing off his English. The questions were all pretty standard. Where did we meet? When? What do I do? Will he work in the USA? There were no trick questions at all. My fiance said the interviewer was very polite and kind. It was a good experience for him.

I took personal leave from my work and flew to Vientiane, Laos for my wife interview. The interview was for my wife but I am glad that I was their with her and my step son for the interview. A female in mid 40's American case offer called my name first to the window and politely informed me that the interview is for my wife and if she has any questions, she will call me to the window and asked me take a seat. My wife and I were sitting in the front rows, across from the CO window. Shortly after, she called my wife to the window while my son was sleeping on my laps and the CO did noticed that with a smile. The CO asked very simple questions to my wife, how she knows me? where we meet? when we got married? where we got married? where does your husband lives in U.S? and where does he works? My wife answers all of her questions and she stayed relaxed while she was answering questions. The CO thank her and asked her to take a seat. The CO then called my name to the window and asked me clarification on where did we exactly got married and after that she said she will have the visa ready by the end of today or after the weekends. Since I was there with my wife, the staffs did noticed that how much both of us truly love each other. Therefore, I would highly encouraged if both spouses can attend the interview then by all means be there! We got our visa after the weekends!

Arrived at the Embassy 7:30 but the interview began at 11:00 ( I am the last one )
Consular Officer asked me below questions:
How did u met each other ?
How long u have been in relationship ?
Do you love your fiancée ?
What does your fiancée's name ? And nickname?
What does he do ?
Where does he live?
When did you decide to have an engagement ?
Did you have any engagement party ?
How did you continue your relationship ? Cuz this is quite long ! (p.s we are in relationship for almost 8 years )
Did you or your fiancée get marry before?
Did you or your fiancée have any children ?
Would you like to work in U.S if possible ?
What is you plan if visa granted ?
That's it ! And everything went very well within 7 mins only.
And consular officer liked our invitation card alot ! He asked me where did I made it ? Can I take take a picture of it etc.. ? He said he want to make his own invitation card same as mine
Than a consular officer wrote me the date and time to pick up my visa ! And he blessed us to have a happy life in America together !

My fiancee arrived at the US Embassy in Vientiane, Laos at approx 745am. When she went in she there was already some people in front of her. Gave her passsport, ID and household book to the hmong guy in the window. She the came back and sit down and waited to be call, then went and pay her visa fee. After she pay she went back to sit and wait for her turn tfor the interview. There were about 27 people but only about four were young woman that goes for k1visa. she was number 24 and she was the first one for the k1 visa. They call her to the window and she had a hmong translator and the american guy ask her:
1- How we meet
2- if I was marry before?
3- How we know each other?
4- What state i live in?
5- What my job
6- If i have two kids?(which i do)
7- what she like about me the most?
8- What is her goal going to america?
9- has she ever been marry?
10-do she have kid?
11-what date month and year did you meet your fiancee?
12- where did you meet him and when
13-how did you guy keep in contact? did you guy use email?
14- they ask her the above question again at a later time.
15- he look at the letter that my kids wrote to her and ask her who wrote the letter?
16- my son also make her a motherday card with his picture and he also ask when and who made the card.
the he call me but my phone was on silent so i didn't get to talk to the consulate. afther that he turn to my fiancee and ask her if that is the only phone numver that i have and she say yeah.
17- the he go on to grab a whit pice of paper and lifted my two son photo up in front otf her and smile at her and say, they look like the are a handful would you be able to take care of them? (this is put in my own word but something like this.)and she she yes then he handed her the white slip and tell her to come pick up her visa on the date that is on the paper. yeah....
