Embassy opened at 8 am sharp. Fiance was done with interview by 9:30 am. He said they asked him about 10 questions and were very nice. Nothing major. They asked how we met, when we met, was I ever married, do I have children, what I do for a living, etc...nothing crazy. They took his passport and told him it will be available in a week.

My review is long over due. My husband (then fiancé) interview was held September of 2018. We had everything ready and he didn’t have any trouble getting into the embassy. It was packed per usual with interviewees and vendors trying to sell all kinds of items. My husband just showed his paper stating his interview appointment. He went in around 9am and didn’t go up until about 12/1pm. He provided the first window with all of the necessary documents including updated photos of us. They had him sit back down and then he was called to another window. He was asked general questions:
How we met..
Who does he know in my family...
How many times I visited...
How far along I was (pregnant at the time and had maternity shoot photos)
Everything was going fine until they got to the divorce document. They inquired about his divorce date and asked when did it take place. He shared the date that was printed on his Extrait archives. Unfortunately the translator service we used input the wrong finalized divorce date on our translated document by one day, because of this there was speculation. They provided him that immigration book along with his passport & 221g & placed him on AP. They gave him a 221g with no extra evidence being requested. It just said that further review was needed and they’ll get back to us. A long 7-8 months went by before they actually started doing anything with our case. During this time I was contacting my congressperson and emailing the embassy consistently. There’s detailed posts of what I did and how that went on my profile. Ultimately after such a long wait and uncertainty, we were granted our visa after having to do a new medical exam since the wait was over the Validity date of his previous medical exam. Once they started making moves on our case everything went by super fast after. I am beyond grateful that we are passed Haiti embassy stage. So much needs to be revamped as far as infrastructure and processing times, but I know the countries constant manifestations play a huge part in that.
