Today was my interview for the K-1 in FRankfurt . I had a 09:30 am appointment and left the Consulate @ 10:50 am with a positive Result. They where extremly nice there and everyting was really easy. I was so nervous and there really was no need. They only ask if we already had a date set and where we where getting married. THe cnsular only ask if all info was correct and how me and my fiance met. Then they took my fingerprints and he said: ok. We will issue your visa. Good luck and have a nice day
So everybody who goes through FRankfurt ...just relax ..it is really that easy. After all these monhs of waiting and wondering it all comes down to just a few little questions and that is it
The medical was also easy. I did that the day before. Got there about 09:45 am and was already finished and out the door an hour later. They have you fill out a few questions..pay your fee of EUR 125 tahn go downstairs for a urinetest, bloodtest and chest x-ray. Afterwards you see the doc who checks you over real quick and they check your shoot records. THat is all. Easy as well.
Good luck to everybody

Our appointment was at 7.30. We arrived at 7.00 and there was already a long line. We got in 3rd because they called US citizens out of the line and I was accompanying my fiance.
We waited to be called to window 23, the lady told us how to sort the papers and to put stamps on the envelope. Then we waited again to be called to a man who went through the papers (he asked for the military papers of my fiance), let him sign the documents that needed to be signed, collected the rest of the papers, compared originals with copies, explained the procedure in US ...
Then we waited again and eventually were called to the CO. He asked whether the interview should be in German or English. My fiance opted for German. He needed to swear the correctness of the papers, took fingerprints ... Then he asked him when we met, where we met, what my job is and when we are going to be married. I was standing right next to my fiance and was chatting with the CO a bit. He then said he should have the visas in 7 - 10 days, because the medical was already done before hand. We got the passport of my fiance back, because we will go for a trip to US in July. After being back, we will submit the passport to the embassy and then the visas will be issued. They kept the passports of the kids, we don't need them.
Everything went smooth, we were done shortly before 10.00.

As much as I complain, however, the DCF, or Direct Consular Filing, process was surprisingly painless. Even the interview was benign, I mean the Consulate official only water-boarded her for two or three minutes, tops.
The questions went something like this:
1. Hi, how are you? To which she answered, fine. (So far, so good.)
2. How long have you known your husband? How long have you been married? (Again, pretty easy.)
3. How did you meet? At this point; I interjected, saying that I felt it unreasonable that we answer questions that are clearly covered in the GeoffandAmy.com FAQ. I mean, that is why they are there, so we don't have to. If he didn't do his homework first, it is not our fault. He gave me a look, that I interpreted as "Be quiet."
4. Have you ever been to the US? She answered she had, he followed up with "Why?" She then mentioned that she lost her baby and went for the funeral and that line of questions was quickly abandoned.
5. Do you know Geoff's family? Yes, his mother and father.
6. Does he have brothers and sisters? Yes, two sisters. (Which is correct.)
7. Are they older or younger? One is older, the other younger. (Which is false, but since he didn't know any better, I just kept my mouth shut. She said that immediately after she answered she knew she had made a mistake but was afraid to correct herself.)
8. Have you been to the doctor yet? No, we are going right after we get done here.
9. Ok, he says, looks good, unless we have some problems with the medical test, I am going to sign off on this, expect your visa in about a week.
And that was it. All in all, an easy day. Amy claims to now be getting excited about our impending move to Newport, Rhode Island (which is the first stop, for about six months, when we return) now that she is pretty certain she can go.

There is not much to say about my interview but maybe it will help some people to stay calm when they have their interview.
I was supposed to be there at 08:30 am but i arrived at 08:25 and had to wait to get in. When my daughter and i finally got in at 08:45, we went to the first window and after 10 min, we were called to the second window. After an other 15 min we went to the last windows, they took my finger print and asked me to swear that my information is the truth and that was it. The officer didnt ask any question about my daughter, he didnt want to see any custidy papers and he didnt ask for any evidence of my relationship with now hubby.
At 09:15 everything was over and we went home. I couldnt beleive that it was so easy and so quick
