My now-spouse arrived on a K-1 visa and we got the notification for an interview for the adjustment of status (for a green card) 2 months before the actual appointment. When we arrived at the USCIS office (which was practically empty), we went through the scanner, were given a number, and waited five minutes or so before being called for the interview. The interviewing immigration officer was very kind and understanding of difficulties understanding English. My spouse, being the one applying for the green card, was the only one allowed to answer questions. The immigration officer just confirmed the basics (name/date/address/DOB/phone number etc), asked for photo ID, and went through all the yes/no questions on the I-485 form. That was it. Spouse was approved for a conditional green card 24 hours later.

Friendly IO. Asked basic questions about where we met, when, under what circumstances. Then Yes and No questions. Asked if we had anything else to add which we did. New taxes, pictures and bank statements. Approved on the spot. Wished success with naturalization

Arrived 15 minutes prior to interview starting. Went through security and then to an iPad. Chatted to lady via the iPad and was then told to go to an interview room. The interview room had a desk, chairs, and two iPads. We waited 20 minutes until we got a Skype call via the iPad. The interview was conducted through this. Immigration Officer was friendly as he went through my application. Basic questions were asked like spouses name, dob, job, how we met, wedding, what we did for our anniversary.
Immigration Officer came to our office at end and asked me to sign paperwork and gave some tips to strengthen our file so we don’t have to come back for another interview in 2 years time when removing the conditions.
Was there altogether for just over an hour. Interview was about 40 minutes long. Status changed a few hours later. Received Greencard exactly a week later.

Easy interview. Had to answer very basic questions about DOBs and educations. Also asked about where each on of us worked. Friendly interviewer. In and out in 20 mins.
