Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had our AOS interview 11/7. received notification of approval 11/10, but dated 11/8.

interview was at 8, we were there at 7 30 and first ones in, didnt have interview until shortly after 9 (this was concerning since i had a 10:30 hair appointment LMAO) 😕

questions... pretty easy/standard. basically verifying info on the forms submitted. Asked paul some of my family members names and info about my kids (some he knew, some he didnt lol). asked me his parents names and kids birthdays (aside from month i didnt know- they are grown lol). My financial situation has changed, she did not want updated affidavit of support (i did have updated version), but did take hubbys pay stubs and employment verification letter. She did ask about pauls criminal background (bar fight 20 some years ago and DUI in 2016- assault charge was expunged and DUI resolved that same year while he was still in canada). The only other thing she wanted was relationship evidence (photos, joint car insurance, wills and power of attorney, few misc small items) and the sealed packet from his physical. interview took probably 30 minutes. for the record we have separate bank account and most likely will continue to do so for some time. They did not have a problem with this. Plenty of other evidence to be had.

As far as what we took - EVERYTHING. every original document (birth certificates, death/divorce/marriage certs), criminal background checks, everything submitted in the original packet we took the original forms for. took our wedding album, which she looked through. she laughed when paul said she could keep it and i said no she can not - that it was expensive! LOL I did let her keep all the other photos we provided (most of which were just printed a few to a page on printer paper) . Asked why 2 weddings (we married on 12/24 legally in our home, but since originally we had filed for k1, we also had wedding plans for this past july- so we had that wedding too since that was the one with all our friends and family). she asked for none of the other info (10 pound accordion file LMAO) I had with us aside from any new relationship evidence (i think the car insurance was new since we filed (maybe, i dont recall), and paystubs

Other than waiting too long for our interview, it went smoothly and I have no complaints. Officer was professional and semi-friendly, asked questions to clarify info when she needed it. She did not tell us if we were approved or not on the spot, but we also did not ask...so, maybe she would have if we HAD asked.

Review Topic: Naturalization

I asked the officer if we could Do the interview for the i751 ( my husband was there) and he agreed, he was very friendly and polite, asked us to follow him to his office and then asked us to remain standing and raise the right hand and swear that we would tell the truth, then asked us to sit down and our iD,scanned my index fingerprints and started verifying some info from my applications(name, birthdate, trips outside the US, prior divorces , out children and stepchildren , if I have filed taxes, then started asking questions for the civics test ( just asked 6 because I answered them right, keep in mind that they are computer generated)then asked met to read from the iPad one sentence and then asked me to write in the iPad one sentence. The questions asked were: what is the capital of your state?, the idea of self government is in the first 3 words from the Constitution what are these words?, what are 2 major political parties in the United States?, how old do citizens have to be to vote?,,when is the last day you can send in federal income tax forms?, how many justices are on the Supreme Court?
I answered them correctly , he printed the form N-652 that says I passed the English test, and the ushistory and government test and he recomend me for approval. An hour and half after the interview I got a notification that I am approve and they will mail me a notification with dates place and time for the oath ceremony . They will also mail me my new green card and I have to bring the expired one and new one to the ceremony .

Review Topic: Other Experience

Our i-130 interview was done on May 15, 2019. My husband has an order of removal from 2007 and so we were a bit nervous about the interview because there was a chance of my husband being arrested.

We got to the interview 20 minutes ahead of schedule. We went through security and they gentlemen were very nice. Then we went to the front desk where they redirected us to an elevator to go upstairs.

Our appointment was at 1100 and we got called in at 1104. The gentleman (I can't remember his name) he was very nice and professional.

I was asked: What is your husbands full name, what is his date of birth, where was he born?

They asked my husband: Who was at the wedding, how many people, Where was the wedding, how long have you known each other.

We had plenty of bone fides for our case. My husband and I have known each other since 2002 so this was very simple.

At the end of our interview he asked if we had any questions. I asked him was our i-130 approved and he said he was recommending it to be approved and we should get a letter within 2 weeks. We actually got the letter 5 days letter stating we were approved.

Tomorrow I will go back to the office to see the status of our Deferred Action.

Officer called our name and took us to the room in the back. Oath ceremony at the beginning of the interview and were asked to have a seat. Very informal after she saw all of our documents. She was in love with the fact that we did our homework down to the T and filled all of the requirements on the I-797 interview invitation letter. After that just ran through the questions from our initial application and before we knew it, it was done and over. Very nice and easy process.
