My fiance had her interview on February 24th and she was approved. I believe that the CO already has made the decision before the interview, because the CO only asked 3 questions...What is your fiance's name? When did you meet your Fiance? and What is his favorite football team? The last question was because my fiance was wearing a Seahawks shirt!! She was given a receipt to turn in at the EMS desk and had to pay for the shipping for her passport to be mailed to her. Her visa was issued on February 28th and she received it in the mail on March 6th. We were both so relieved and grateful that the interview went so smoothly

Here is our experience from HCM Consulate.
Questions had been asked:
1) What is your fiancé's date of birth and place of birth?
2) What is your fiancé's highest education?
3) What is his current address and phone number?
4) How many siblings does he have?
5) How many trips did your fiancé visit you and tell exact date of entry and left for each trip?
6) Can I see pictures and airplane tickets?
7) Where and When did he propose? Did he propose inside (VIP's room) or outside? Did you accept it right away or ask him to give you some times to think about it? Describe how he proposed.
8) Where is he working ? Can you describe the job that he works ?
They did not even look at mails, letters, Moneygram's receipts, or phone record. The CO told her that she did very well on her interview, however CO gave her the 1st blue slip to ask for ... read complete review

Today (February 25, 2014) my wife had her interview at the U.S. Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The interview took 344 days from our NOA1 date. For various reasons (mostly office errors) we had 1 RFE with USCIS, and 2 Check lists with NVC. In all that set us back about 3 months I would say.
Anyway, onto the interview. My wife, 2 yr old son, and I arrived and parked across the street from the consulate at 6:35am. Before we got the motorbike and all our things situated they began lining up down the sidewalk outside the consulate in two single file lines. This began at about 6:40am. We were in line shortly after and it was already LONG!
They opened the doors shortly after 7:00am. At this time the lines were VERY long. We were about in the middle of the line. The lines slowly started moving as they checked everyone's appointment letters, then a security check to look into any bags you brought and scanned you with a hand held metal detector.

My wife's interview was January 22. Arrived at 6:30 and out by 10 am. It seemed to help that I attended. The guy that took her documents (they are notorious for being surly) saw me with her and even waved and said hi.
I helped carry her paperwork to the consular officer window, and that also seemed to help. CO as friendly and professional. Total time was 15 mins. My wife did great (interview in English, likely because CO saw me...I'm clearly not VV). Standard questions on bona fides. Did not ask to see pictures.
So...it went well, as expected. My wife is in AP. She's joined the communist party for work reasons. They took our affidavit and supporting material (copy of membership card, promotion letter from work). This will all be sent to the office in DC that reviews these situations. I think we have a clear cut exception case, and we were very well prepared. Staying positive.
Our attorney did a great job preparing us, including four... read complete review

went here for my sons consular report of birth aboard. First off they let us in with a baby stroller and diaper/formula bag. No issues. There is no need to take a number. As far as I can tell they just call through the list of names that are on appointment and the first to answer gets helped first.
I had a ton of evidence to show that the baby was mine but the only things required were original documentation. Official red stamped photo copies of each and the official red stamped English translations of all papers. They kept all the red stamped copies so you may want to get extra while your doing these documents at the VN offices.
I only had to interview at the window. Other couples had to interview in the private room but they missing important things like babies and birth certificates. The only additional evidence required on top of the official forms were some photos of me and the wife when we met, I didn't even get to wedding photos or the baby photos.<... read complete review
