Review Topic: K1 Visa

Very quick and easy process. Was made to feel at ease and everyone was very polite (except for the English lady in reception before you go to the lifts :/ ).

I was asked for:

1) One US style passportphoto
2) Birth Certificate
3) ARCO Police certificate
4) Passport
5) DS-160 confirmation page (you have to provide this to get into the embassy)
6) Affidavit and tax returns - I didn't think was needed and only had W2's, they said this was fine and it wasn't a huge concern for K1 VISA applicants anyway

He took my fingerprints and then I waited for the interview part.

I waited about 10 minutes and all I had to do was take n oath to say everything I said was the truth, She asked how we met, and where I'll be living (house or apartment). She then casually said well we will issue your VISA once your medical arrives.

My passport had slight water damage to some of the pages but this did n... read complete review

I arrived at the embassy 30mins early and stood in a line at the door for interview letters and passports to be checked. Once the lady checked me off her list she pointed me to the door to enter. The first entry is like airport security you put your belongings in the tray and walk through the metal detector. I had a giant hand bag that had my whole paperwork file inside, my phone, iPad, purse, car keys sunglasses, and a bottle of water. They allowed all of that inside but asked me to take a sip of my water before thanking me. I then walked into a second building and straight to the main desk where they checked my visa type gave me a number and directed me to the waiting area. It was in the lift 1st floor exit the lift and make two left turns and wait there for my number to come on the screen.

The first time my number came up I went to the numbered window and handed in my passport, interview letter and courier letter.
The man asked to take my fingerprints then aske... read complete review

You should all relax, as long as you have the correct paperwork it's a piece of cake!

My appointment was at 11:00, I arrived about 10:30 to no queues and was in the waiting room for 10:35. I waited about 20 minutes and got called to the first window and was greeted by the most casual guy in the world. I got asked for my passport, DS160, birth certificate, affidavit of support, 1040a, 1 x photo, a letter from my fiance's job. I got asked whether I had any previous visas (I did, 2 J1 visas from summer camp), he just wanted to know they were expired and was happy with that. I had my fingerprints taken, got my chest x-ray from my medical then got told to sit down and wait to speak to an officer.

I waited about 15 minutes and got called to speak to a lady, she asked me what my fiance did, where we met, where we're going to live and any future honeymoon plans. She then said 'well everything is in order, I'm going to approve your visa' - I was talking to her for ... read complete review

Okay, everyone's right. This is a very easy consulate to go through. Our appointment was at 11, and we got there at 9:30 (taking the picadilly line to Victoria and off at Vauxhall. About 10 min walk from there). We hung out outside the embassy for an hour until they let us in at 10:30. No hassle on me (the sponsor) coming with him, either. We waited for about 30 mins in the immigrant visa area before being called up to present our documents. His medical had arrived (it was done 8 business days before). They wanted his passport, his birth certificate, police certificate, passport photos, all that good stuff, and the affidavit of support from me. I brought my 2017 W-2, a letter from my employer and a few pay stubs printouts from ADP. They only wanted the W2 and letter. Then we waited for another few minutes to be called for the interview portion. However, there was a problem with their file of his DS-160 and we were given the option of doing another one and coming back tomorrow with it o... read complete review
