Was extremely pleasantly surprised at the lack of waiting on the day of my interview.
Got to the building with time to spare and wasn't allowed inside until 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment time. All staff were very helpful at explaining where to go and what the next step would entail. Made my way to the waiting room by the windows and had been sat for only 5 minutes before my number was called to a window. There, my fingerprints were taken, as well as all my documents (none of the copies I'd made were needed) and the man was friendly, asking how I met my fiancé, what city he lives in, and when the wedding would be. He smiled as we discussed the fact the Key Largo guarantees beautiful weather for a wedding year-round, he seemed to genuinely enjoy his job and wished me well with everything before I returned to my seat, preparing myself for the long wait ahead... which never materialised.
I had only read a page or two of the book I'd brought to keep myself occupied when my number was once again displayed on the screen, summoning me to a window. I was greeted by a friendly woman, who had to redo my fingerprints as the first set were unclear. She then put me under oath before asking how I met my fiancé. She next asked if it was a first marriage for us both, to which I said it was my first and his third. She then wanted to see the divorce decrees (which we had sent with the initial petition), she struggled to find them on her computer so she was really pleased when I had digital copies on my phone, she was more than happy to accept them thankfully. She then only had one more question for me, enquiring again about which city my fiancé lives in. After I answered her, she was very quick to tell me "Well everything appears to be in order, so you'll get the visa in about a week". I broke out into a huge smile as I thanked her and she returned my smile; the staff really were very helpful and they took pride in their work, which served to amplify what a great and memorable day it was. Very pleased with the day as a whole
