So I’m sat on my train home and still trying to let the words “approved” sink in. Think that’s going to take a few more days yet!

Not much to add to that doesn’t echo the previous reviews. It wasn’t as scary as I feared. It was a pretty painless experience.

Arrived at the embassy around 10:40, my interview was at 11:30 so wondered to Waitrose as I needed something to soothe the annoying ticket cough I had. It was 11:00 when I headed over and there was hardly a que and the girl took my documents and in I went. Security straight forward like everyone said.

Qued a little while to get in by it’s very simple to find your way to where they do the interviews. My number was already on the screen so went straight up where a cheerful chap went through asking for my paperwork (none of those extra evidence pieces I had fretted about having asked for) he asked me a couple of questions but it was quick and si... read complete review

I had my K1 interview yesterday at the U.S embassy in London and we were approved and have now entered administrative processing! My experience was similar to what the majority of others have described as simple, speedy and a tad anti climatic. I expected cake and confetti.

As I don't have anything to say that hasn't already been said about the process I will summarize.

The interview is a breeze. You have nothing to worry about if you go prepared.

Overall I was asked to provide my:

1) Passport
2) Ds160 confirmation page
3) Affidavit of support (I-34) with supporting evidence (Ronnie's last year tax returns and W2).
4) Birth certificate
5) Deed poll (only needed if you have changed your name which I have)
6) Acro (less than a year old)
7) One passport photo (mine was US size)
8) Fingerprints (they take them there)

They had my results from the medical I underwent ... read complete review

So this review is probably nothing new but if I can help even just one person feel more relaxed then this will be all worth it.

My interview was on Monday 25th February 2019. I'm from Scotland, so I got up at 3am to catch my 6am flight to London Stansted, I then had to go on a train and then underground to get to the embassy. I arrived at the embassy at around 9am, however my interview wasn't until 11:30 so I just went around the corner and sat in the Waitrose for a couple hours. I was pretty much as nervous and anxious as it gets!! I had an accordion folder filled with everything I could possibly think they might ask for (Just in case). Eventually it got to 11:00 and I made my way back to the embassy to start getting in the queue outside. A friendly security officer asked when my appointment was and informed me I could make my way through the airport style security and through into the embassy. Once in the embassy they check your DS-160 and put a sticker on it and your... read complete review

Another positive experience to add to the long list at the London embassy.

Same process as the others listed here. Initial long wait, then sent upstairs to a much shorter line (only 2 others) for long stay/immigration visas. Originals needed: passport, passport style photo, police certificate, birth certificate, divorce decree, affidavit of support. Medical results had arrived (we left 11 working days between appointments and got any missing immunizations during the appointment). Second window was a friendly officer who said "I want to get to lunch, I hope you made this easy for me". Questions: How did you meet? (At a bar on a night out 2 years ago) How many times have you seen each other? (7 total: 4 trips to US, 3 trips to UK) When are you going to see each other again? (She's visiting the UK in 30 days). He said, "yep, you made this easy. Approved."

Time from NOA1: 204 days
Total time in embassy: 1.5 hrs
Total time in i... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

As others have said, this is a very easy part of the process. Although I got flustered on a particular question and feel like I didn't answer it confidently, the interviewing officers are professional and are clearly used to some nerves - if your case is in check then it shouldn't be a problem. Other reviews helped me so here we go with mine...

Arrived half an hour before my appointment. You loop to the left of the building if you're coming from Vauxhall Underground station and outside there are two lines. The first is a quick check where two girls write a note on your printed DS160/DS260, they then ask you to queue to enter the site and this is the security check line. It's airport style but fairly fast. You emerge into a courtyard and there is another line that stretches outside to actually get into the embassy. If you are CR-1/IR-1 or K-1 you simply walk past the line, inside the building and up to reception. They take your details again, hand you a ticket number and ... read complete review
