Appointment was scheduled for 11:30, I began the process at 11:10, I gave the lady at the visa entry point my passport and ds160 and was sent through to security. Went through into the main building and gave my documents to get my ticket number and sent upstairs to the immigrant waiting room.
As I arrived in the waiting room and it was pretty empty. I was seen by the first gentleman within 5 minutes and he requested paperwork and fingerprints. The paperwork he asked for was my passport, ds160 confirmation, a visa style photograph, birth certificate, police certificate and the affidavit of support with evidence. He was very friendly and helped calmed my nerves. I then was sent to sit back down and wait to be called for my interview.
I was sat down for maybe 10 minutes at most when I was called for my interview, during that time I’d been sitting through about 4 people being approved, which was really lovely. The interview was very formal and just what I had anticipated, a few questions about how we’d met and how long we’ve been together and then after some long typing she kindly informed me the application had been approved!
All in all it was a very pleasant experience from start to finish, everyone there was very friendly and the other applicants in the waiting area are just as nervous and were very supportive!
