The whole thing went really smoothly for me. I turned up at the Gould Pharmacy to hand in my mobile and anything else that i had in my pockets that was not needed (like earphones- i figured better to be safe than sorry). They put everything in a baggie and give you a receipt.

There was a queue out the front of the embassy when i arrived, and it was raining, there was no cover, but i didn't expect there to be. Someone checks your papers, then you proceed thru the little security hut where the x-ray you and your stuff, airport style.

Then follow the arrows to the lobby area which is just a large hall filled with chairs, information screens in the middle, and a little shop where you can buy refreshments. There is a passport photo booth too, in case you need it.

The desk in the antechamber stuck a sticker to my appointment letter which had a ticket number which was my turn to be called. I took a seat, and within 30 minutes my number had been ... read complete review

Interview date: 27 Apr 2011.
Interview time: 08:30
I left the hotel, about 10 minutes away from the Embassy, at 07:40. I got to the embassy just before 08:00. It's an extremely easy building to spot - huge, iron fenced place, with armed guards standing around it. I followed the arrows around to the front door.

I queued up in the outside queue, and an employee came to look at my payment receipt and my appointment letter. Everything was in order, so I continued to wait. I was also told to remove any belts or jewellery and put them in my bag. At the front of the queue, another employee, this one looked more like a guard, also checked the same documents. He led me to another, shorter queue, for the security building.

Inside the security building, I put my bag (a regular sized rucksack/backpack which caused no problems) into a security box, and my pocket contents in another. I stepped through a metal detector, and had to show them the large metal ... read complete review

I arrived at the embassy around 7:30am for my 9am interview and was surprised to see the size of the queue. There were around 20-30 people in front of me and it took around 20 minutes to get through security. Once inside, I had to show my interview letter, passport and receipt. I was then issued a ticket with a number on it and was told to wait down the far end of the hall as that’s where the window I would be called to was. After waiting for around a half an hour, my number was called. I went to the window where the rudest woman I've ever met greeted me. I handed her my police certificate, court records (as I had 2 minor crimes,) birth certificate, passport and 2 passport-sized photos- which she told me where not good enough even though they were UK passport-standard. After a few heated words, she accepted that it wasn't my fault that her machine didn't work on them and gave them back to me. Finally, I had to give my fingerprints. She then gave me another ticket number (which was th... read complete review

I arrived at Goulds pharmacy about 7:20, and left my electronics with them and was in the line for the Embassy by 7:30. My actual appointment wasn't until 8:30. The most stressful point of the interview was going through security. I had a bag (larger than the average purse), and I was worried they would say something. They didn't, however, they made me drink some of my water (to make sure it was water) that I had in my bag before letting me in. When I arrived at the reception desk the lady put a few stickers on my form and told me to wait by window 1. About 15 minutes later I was called up to the window and was asked for my passport, passport pictures, police certificates, birth certificate, I-134, employee letter, transcripts and recent pay stubs (from my fiancé). I was worried they would keep the originals of my police certificate as I wanted them back, however, she said I could have them back. I know that some people aren't given them back, so not sure if that is down to wh... read complete review

My Fiance said he got there at 8am, had his inter veiw and was out by 11am! Awesome timming. After I read reviews that said it took all day just waiting to be called. He said theinterview was simple, they didn't ask too many evasive questions, mostly about his DUI. SO that was it they gave him something to take to the curriur and it was over!!!
