Having read many other reviews, many people seemed to say that the interview was a bit of an anti-climax. I disagree. I'm still on a high!
Our experience seems to be easier than others; we only filed the I-130 in February and we're here already, and didn't need to be apart (other than me going to London overnight!)
Appointment was Wednesday 9am. I was debating whether to take a 5am train from Manchester, or stay overnight. In the end, decided to travel down Tuesday night, stayed in my parents' house in London, and planned to be at the embassy at 7am.
As it happened, I overslept and got to the embassy at 8:30. Still plenty of time though. I'd left electronic stuff with my parents to save going to Goulds.
There were about 20 people waiting outside, but was in the embassy with my ticket (I915) by 8:35. Embassy was packed and I almost couldn't find a seat.
For some reason, there are no clocks at all, and I did... read complete review

The interview has 2 parts. First window someone will check your documents then you go and wait again until called to second window where the american officer will interview you.
I found both parts very nerve racking, just because your future lies in the hands of the people interviewing you and checking your documents. However, i had nothing to hide so was honest and polite.
Make sure you bring full birth certificate as i only had the short one and this delayed my visa by about a week. Would have been so much nicer to walk away with my visa that day!

It was an early start for me..set off from leicester at 425am on national express coach down to London Marble Arch. arrived at coach stop at 710am and the embassy was only a short 10 minute walk from there.
Arrived at Embassy at 720am there was about 10 infront of me. by 745 i was inside..got my number I902 and sat down and waited to be called. at 8am they started calling numbers..mostly all N ones but after about 15mins i was called to window number one to hand in my docs...was a friendly english guy. all went smoothly, and was given my pink form to fill in to pay for my passport delivery. so i went and sat down..expecting a wait. filled out my pink DX form and before i knew it i was called to window 15..where a chinese american guy was waiting. asked me to write my fiances name down and sign mine. he started with the questions.
How and were did we meet.

I arrived at the embassy at the embassy at about 7:20 am. There were about 10 people ahead of of me. I was inside by 7:45 am, they started calling numbers at 8:00. My number was I-902, I was called at about 15 minutes. I was seen by a nice British guy , he collected my documents and finger prints , returned my medical cd and told me it was mine to keep and I should keep it in my suitcase when traveling, he gave me the pink form and asked me to complete it while I waited for my number to be called , he said I\'ll be called by counter 15 or 16.
At about a few minutes past 9:00 I was called and seen by an American guy. He asked the normal questions and a few that I wasn\'t expected. The unexpected ones were that my fiancée had said we met in 2008 and I told him we met 2009 which was true. I guess my fiancée made a mistake. Anyway I insisted to him that it was 2009. He also asked that I had a visitors visa in 2011 that why did I not mention I had fiancée on the form I completed f... read complete review

I got into the long line at 8.15, there were a ton of people already waiting; Including Ashley from Ashley and Pudsey on Britains Got Talent!
Eventually I was admitted inside the embassy at 8:50, and was given a ticket number man I917 number at reception, these numbers are few and far between, so prepared to be there for a good while!
I was called to a pleasant English guy at around 9:45 who gathered the relevant documents from me and asked me where abouts Matthew was. He then handed me my chest Xray on a CD and gave me a pink courier slip to complete. I was then advised to wait until called again.
I then began the dreaded wait again for my number to be called by the next officer, I was eventually called to window 16. Where a Chinese- American was, I read his badge 'Vice Counseller' Here we go I thought.
Be prepared, the questions that this officer asks are somewhat bizarre and intrusive.
Firstly he asked, Where is Matthew? What does h... read complete review
