My appointment was at 8.00am and we arrived at the embassy at 7.15am. After queing for 10 minutes, our paperwork was checked, my fiance was on the list and we got moved to a second queue. After about another 10 minutes we went through security and that's when I had to run to Gould's pharmacy to check my car keys in! Didn't think they were electronic, but something to do with the chip?

We walked round the side of the building and got our number from reception, I-904. We then sat down and waited 30 minutes until we were called up to window 1. We had the hard-to understand chinese woman. I could just understand what she was saying, but my fiance couldn't. She started saying my photos were not good enough, the background wasn't white, the picture was blurred and the paper quality was rubbish. She asked where I had them printed and I said a professional photo shop and she said 'don't go to some happy-snappy shop' I told her what I paid for them, so she then said 'well I don't want you paying more money, I can make it work, don't worry'. She then got a bit grumpy about my paperwork not being stapled, but when I said sorry, she said 'oh, don't worry, I'm just having a moan!, I've been doing this for 30 years.
I handed over all my paperwork, plus copys and she put all the copies in my file and said the next interviewer would give me back the originals. She asked for the I-134 and a letter from his employer. She then said 'you were married, right?' and I said yes, I've given you my divorce decree. She then asked where my police certificates were for my married name. I said I never changed my name and she said when you marry you get your husbands name. I said it doesn't work like that here and I have never been known by another name. She then said 'well I hope this is not a problem for you!'

Ok, so now I'm more nervous, about a police check I can't do, as that person does not exist!

We then sat back down, settling in for a long wait. Eventually we were called up to window 15, to the woman with brown hair and glasses. She gave us a nice smile and said good morning. I introduced my fiance to her and she said 'I recognised him from the photos' and smiled again. She then asked us both to take the oath and I had to write my fiances name on the form and sign it. She told me there was something wrong with my finger prints I did earlier and she had to re-do them but her system wasn't working, so we had to wait a few minutes. Then she couldn't get a good image for my finger prints, so I had to do it another 2 times!
She then started to ask questions;

How did we meet?
When was the first time we met in person?
Did I take my son on that first visit?
When did we last see each other?
When I was planning to travel to the US?
What were our wedding plans?
Was I going to fly my son back here to see his Dad?
Did I have permission to take him out of the country?
Where did my fiance work and what does he do there?

She then asked my fiance if he was going to support us?

She then typed stuff on her computer for about 30 seconds, but it felt a lot longer and then looked up and said 'congratulations, I am happy to approved both visas!'
I looked at my fiance and smiled and started crying and she then said 'it's ok to hug and cry'. She looked so happy for us at the same time too.

So that's it, the hardest part (I think) DONE!
No extra finacial evidence or relationship evidence was asked for.
We were in and out in under 2 hours
